Revolution: Punk & Post-Punk Images - Kristan James Melik.

WITH FREE  EXCLUSIVE A3 POSTER (PAUL WELLER: THE JAM 1979 era) (Will be carefully folded and posted with book on publication)

Revolution is a photo-based documentation of images from the lens of the late, Kristan James Melik, also known as Marcus Featherby. Sadly, Kristan passed away this year. One of his final wishes was for this book project (along with his other forthcoming works) to be published as planned by us at Days Like Tomorrow Books in collaboration with his close friend, Andy Lee. We feel that we have designed and created a fitting visual tribute to his work and memory.

This hardback book includes scores of rare and previously unseen photos from the punk era and beyond, many in full colour and is the perfect addition to the bookshelves of all punk, new wave and post-punk enthusuasts. The images presented includes the likes of The Clash, Buzzcocks, Siouxsie and the Banshees, The Slits, Pere Ubu, The Stranglers, The Lurkers, Generation X, The Adverts, The Pretenders, Tourists, Blondie, Cabaret Voltaire, Gang of Four and a chapter devoted to early photos of The Specials. A selection of Kristan's anecdotes will also be included throughout.

The book is a LTD edition print run and will be followed by further titles relating to the work of Kristan James Melik.

For a limited period, the book is available as a pre-sale pre-order with £5 off R.R.P.

Back cover synopsis

Kristan James Melik, also known to many as Marcus Featherby, led an adventurous, colourful and unique life. From early sixties pop fan, avid mod to serious music fan of the 1970s and music promoter, he also travelled far and wide whilst nurturing his love of world culture, music and people: in later years he also worked for the BBC World Service. Kristan captured thousands of music-related photographs during his lifetime and it is those that he shot during the punk, new wave and immediate post-punk era that followed that are included within this book. The images date back to his work for Record Mirror and beyond, capturing many artists at their best – right there on stage, where they were at their most relevant, revealing and exciting. Included are rare and previously unseen images of [among others] The Clash, The Jam, Siouxsie & The Banshees, Buzzcocks, Blondie, The Lurkers, The Stranglers, Chrissie Hynde, Pere Ubu and a complete section devoted to The Specials.
